Abstract

Carbon monoxide reacts with solutions of sodium or potassium chloroplatinite to form an unstable, polymeric platinum carbonyl compound which reacts with tertiary phosphines and diphosphines to form complexes of the types [Pt3(CO)3(PR3)4] and [Pt(diphosphine)2].
