Abstract

Ada is perhaps the most ambitious programming language project ever attempted. Nevertheless, despite its well intentioned goals, the size and complexity of the language continue to be the most significant technical obstacle to its success. In this work arguments for streamlining the language, or developing an authorizeG subset are presented. In support of the arguments, a number of sample proposals for scaling down the existing design are offered.
