PART I. TREATMENT In the treatment of haemolytic disease of the newborn we regard it as proved that early exchange transfusion is superior to simple transfusion. The evidence in support of this was obtained in controlled trials carried out in various British centres between October, 1949, and August, 1951 (Mollison and Walker, 1952).
