A novel 1-D chain of Cu(II) with alternate single end-on and single end-to-end azido bridge having a very high Cu−N3(1,1)−Cu bond angle (129.98°) has been synthesized and characterized, which shows an intrachain antiferromagnetic interaction (J = −11.5 cm-1 for end-on bridge and −2.7 cm-1 for end-to-end bridge).
