Violent Intimacy: The Family as a Model for Love Relationships

Abstract

A survey of 461 college students provided data on the incidence of partner violence, by sex. The importance of modeling abusive behavior observed or experienced in the family of origin is discussed, along with the transfer of specific forms of violence from one generation to the next.
