Two viscosity models, the friction theory and the free-volume theory, are coupled with the statistical associating fluid theory equations of state, such as SAFT1 and PC-SAFT, to model the viscosity of pure n-alkanes. The parameters of both viscosity models are found to scale linearly with molecular weight so that the models can predict the viscosity of long n-alkanes.
