An aberrant small acrocentric chromosome

Abstract

Summary A small acrocentric chromosome with satellites on both the long and short arms was found as an extra chromosome in a mentally retarded female. No chromosome abnormalities were observed in either father, mother or elder sister. The possible origin of the aberrant small acrocentric chromosome is discussed.
