Bound electron states close to the conduction band in germanium due to 60° dislocations

Abstract

Abstract Electron states with energies close to the conduction band are calculated in germanium with 60° dislocations within the framework of effective mass and deformation potential theories. These states are found to have energies down to 0.10 eV below the conduction band and have wave functions of a considerable spatial extent.
