Abstract

Intrauterine myelomeningocele repair may reduce the degree of hindbrain herniation normally seen in patients with myelomeningocele. This raises the possibility that intrauterine repair may decrease the morbidity associated with the Chiari type-II malformation including brainstem dysfunction, hydrocephalus and syringomyelia.
