Abstract The present paper is a continuation of current work on dithiocarbamic acid derivatives. By using four test organisms a limited antifungal spectrum is obtained for each compound investigated. These antifungal spectra can be subdivided into four different specificity types, each type comprising compounds or groups of compounds which may be related as to their general mode of antifungal action. This subdivision is supported by the results of respiration measurements. Theoretical considerations allow a more profound specification of the relations between constitution and antifungal activity in the dithiocarbamic acid series.
