Abstract

Abstract The separation of isomeric sugars with the aid of thin‐layer and paper chromatography, as well as paper electrophoresis, has been reported. Under certain fixed experimental conditions and by a combination of the above mentioned methods, it has been possible to differentiate with certainty between all theoretically possible 6‐deoxyhexoses, 3‐O‐methyl‐6‐deoxyhexoses and 6‐deoxyhexuloses.
