Abstract

The dissociation of an R-binap ligand accounts for the high catalytic activity of 1 in the asymmetric isomerization of allylamines. An X-ray structure analysis of 1, prepared in the form of deep red crystals from [Rh(R-binap)(cod)]⊕ClO by exchange of cyclooctadiene (cod) for R-binap, was carried out (binap = P,P′-(1,1′-binaphthyl-2,2′-diyl)bis(diphenylphosphane)).
