Terahertz radiation preferentially activates the expression of genes responsible for the regulation of plasma membrane properties

Abstract

Terahertz (THz) radiation is known to cause effects on cellular membranes; however, the mechanism by which these effects are mediated is unclear. In this study, we show that THz radiation induces the expression of specific genes and signaling pathways that regulate plasma membrane properties.
