Abstract

Open-end yarn of 59 tex nominal count was spun at three different twist factors of 47.8, 51.7, and 55.5. Steam setting of the yarn was done for twist setting (stabilization) and nine samples of a 1 X 1 rib structure were prepared at three different levels of stitch length. Dimensional stability was achieved with the help of a resin treatment in an open tub, and various physical and mechanical properties were tested in different states of relaxation.
