19.1: <i>Invited Paper:</i> High‐Contrast 50‐in. Color ac Plasma Display with 1365 × 768 Pixels

Abstract

Abstract A 50‐in. diagonal AC plasma display with 16:9 aspect ratio has been developed: It has 1365×768 pixels and reproducing 17 million colors. The high resolution images of Hi‐Vision(EIDTV) and XGA(PC) can be displayed with a higher contrast and wider color gamut, employing color filter technology, vertical black stripe, and single priming driving sequence.
