Joint exfosure to Popillia japonica Newman of phenethyl propionate + eugenol + geraniol, 3:7:3, (PEG) and a synthetic female sex attractant (Japonilure) resulted in a lure of outstanding attractancy. This combination was more than 3.6 times as attractive as the current standard survey lure, phenethy1 propionate + eugenol, 3:7, (PE) and 1.34 times as attractive as PE + Japonilure PE + Japonilure however was 2.2 and 2.5 times more attractive, respectively, than either PEG or PE.
