UR SEARCH ol the pertinent literature indi-0 cates that it was SmithS who in 1934 reported the fiist case ol multiple, primary squanicms-celled carcinoma of the skin with spontaneous healing. Since that time, other cases have been published.z.4, L % 11 As far as we have been able to ascertain, the nine cases published by these authors constitute the only instances of this disease in which the diagnosis has been adequately established both clinically and histologically.
