Estimation of the depth to a shallow water-table using microwave radiometry

Abstract

Abstract The dependence of microwave emission characteristics on the depth of a shallow water table has been studied both theoretically and experimentally. The models for describing the above dependences are offered. The reliability of these models has been confirmed under field experiments. The technique for the estimation of the depth to a shallow water table has been offered and realized as the software for PC. Results based on observations at λ equal 18 and 30cm are presented.
