Temperature-controlled phase matching was observed in photoinduced second harmonic generation in optical fibers. A new method for nondestructive determination of the dependences of the efficiency of second harmonic generation on the length of the fiber was developed and implemented. A coherent photogalvanic mechanism of the effect is proposed.
