Abstract

The reactions of a range of alkylidyne complexes of molybdenum and tungsten [M(CR)L n ] with 2-methylthiirane provide the first thioacyl complexes [M(η 2 -SCR)L n ] of these elements, which serve as precursors for complexes bearing dithiocarboxylate, thioselenocarboxylate, thiolatocarbene and α-thioalkyl ligands and thioacyl-bridged binuclear complexes.
