Side Reactions in Peptide Synthesis: <i>tert</i>‐Butylation of Tryptophan

Abstract

The amino acid tryptophan contains a reactive side chain which can be attacked, e.g. on tert-butylation of peptides containing tryptophan residues. Model reactions showed (1) to be the main product.
