Summary A case history is reported of an adverse reaction following intravenous injection of ICI 35,868 or disoprofol (Diprivan) resulting in hypotension. flushing and bronchospasm. There was full recovery and investigation confirmed the involvement of complement C3 and C4. The risks with cremophor‐containing anaesthetics are again stressed.
