Uterine involution time and ovarian activity were studied in autumn- and spring-lambing ewes. Macroscopic uterine involution was completed earlier in autumn-lambing ewes and this can be related with an earlier resumption of ovarian endocrine activity. The uterus of spring-lambing ewes reached a smaller size, similar to that found in anestrous ewes. Weaning immediately after parturition did not affect the time of uterine involution.
