Topical versus peribulbar anesthesia in cataract surgery

Abstract

Despite the increased technical difficulty, topical anesthesia proved an effective alternative to peribulbar anesthesia for cataract surgery that avoids the risks of periocular injection and reduces the need for intravenous medications.
