Rates of isomerization of electronically excited trans-stilbene and of the dissociation of isoquinoline-solvent \ncomplexes in jet beams are compared with those expected from RRKM theory as a function of energy; the \ncomparison is made at low vibrational energies (~1200-3000 cm^(-1)). The jet result for the threshold energy \nof the isomerization is compared with the activation energy for the reaction in solution. The two values are \nin good agreement.
