U.S.-Citizen International Medical Graduates — A Boon for the Workforce?

Abstract

Nearly 14% of applicants for U.S. residency positions are U.S. citizens who graduated from international medical schools. These graduates enter primary care at much higher rates than U.S. medical graduates, but little is known about their offshore medical programs.
