C. ; Roeder, R. C. Abstract Locally inhomogeneous "Swiss cheese" cosmological models have been extended to the cases in which the cosmological constant is nonzero. Application of the optical scalar equations in such models has yielded estimates of the distortions of distant objects and revised distance-redshift relations. Results of numerical integrations also show that in the Friedmann models the "zero shear" models previously discussed by us yield a good approximation as far as observational quantities are concerned.
