Diabetic fibrous mastopathy: Sonographic‐pathologic correlation

Abstract

Abstract Fibrous and inflammatory lesions of the breast in patients with early‐onset, longstanding insulin‐dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) can lead to misdiagnosis because the clinical, mammographic, and sonographic findings simulate breast cancer. We report a case of diabetic fibrous mastopathy with suspicious clinical, imaging, and cytologic findings. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Clin Ultrasound 33:34–37, 2005
