The application of polyurethane films to wool textiles by polymerisation of isocyanates in organic‐solvent systems provides a convenient and economical way of imparting shrink resistance to wool fabric. Methods of application and a description of this relatively new technology are given, with particular reference to the factors affecting the reactivity of polymeric isocyanate materials.
