This pilot study aimed to investigate factors predicting chronic back pain sufferers' intentions to adhere to practitioner-recommended exercise. The study compared the utility of the theory of planned behaviour and the theory of reasoned action. Recommendations are made regarding the focus of exercise regimens if adherence is to be increased.
