Granular hemocytes, the main phagocytic blood cells in <i>Calpodes ethlius</i> (Lepidoptera, Hesperiidae)

Abstract

In Calpodes ethlius, thorium dioxide is phagocytized by granular hemocytes and oenocytoids with some granular hemocytic features. Plasmatocytes and spherule cells are not phagocytic.
