The reaction of bis(alkynyl)mercurials [Hg(CCR)2] (R = C6H5, C6H4Me-4 or ferrocenyl) with diaryl dichalcogenides (ER′)2 (E = Se, R′ = C6H5 or C6H4Cl-4; E = Te, R′ = C6H5) conveniently provided high yields of the alkynyl aryl chalcogenoethers RCCER′.
