Methylsteroids. VIII. The Reaction of Methylmagnesium Iodide with Ketones derived from Lanosterol

Abstract

A brief study has been made of the reaction of methylmagnesium iodide with 38-acetoxylanostan-7,11-dione (I), 3ß-acetoxylanost-8-en-7,11-dione (VII), and lanostan-3-one (XII). Dehydration of the resulting alcohols has also been examined.
