DESIGN, construction, calibration and application of calibration equations for a three-point-hitch dynamometer are discussed. The dynamometer utilized a strain gaged steel tube as a sensing element. Vertical and horizontal implement forces could be resolved to 77N (17 lb) with a computer-based instrumentation system. This system produced consistent and useful data in extensive field experiments.
