Mossbauer study of shock-induced effects in the ordered alloy Fe₅₀Ni₅₀in meteorites

Abstract

By adopting the flying-plate technique the authors have used Mossbauer spectroscopy to investigate shock-induced effects in the ordered iron-nickel alloy in meteorites. The degree of long-range order in the ordered alloy is reduced by the shock event.
