The effect of aerated steam on six seed-borne pathogens was investigated. Complete eradication was obtained for Septoria apiicola in celery seed, Fusarium monilfiorme in sweet corn seed, Corynebacterium michiganense in tomato seed and Xanthomonas campestris in cauliflower seed. Septoria nodorum in wheat seed was partially controlled. Xanthomonas malvacearum in cotton seed was not controlled even at the highest temperature tested.
