Although I have never made or seen an analysis of the users of medical dictionaries, it is reasonable to assume that a dictionary is used most often by medical secretaries and students in various categories of health professions. Probably the physician uses it least often. As a result, a medical dictionary should be designed to accommodate those using it most frequently. From a review of this dictionary, the current editor and the publishers have combined to make the book quite useful to those most likely to use it. It is a convenient size for placement on the cluttered and limited desk of the secretary or student. It is bound sturdily with a flexible cover. It is well indexed and the type face is easily seen. Pronunciation is clearly indicated and the explanation is concise but definitive. Synonyms are generously included facilitating the search for the most appropriate word. Derivations are
