This panel summary presents the arguments for the formation of a task force within the distribution system analysis subcommittee of the power system analysis computing and economics committee to develop a recommended practice for distribution system analysis. The purpose is to provide a basis in standards to harmonize the various methods used to support distribution planning without unnecessarily stifling innovation.
