New Industrial Applications of HNS

Abstract

NITROFER AG has developed new grades of HNS and successfully introduced them in industry. The topic was to produce HNS via conventional steel production techniques and eliminate the dependence on pressurised equipment to achieve a high nitrogen content in the steel. The HNS shown in action are presently being produced by continuous casting, ingot casting (followed by forging) and near net shape casting.
