Abstract

The fine Selmer group of an elliptic curve <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> E E </inline-formula> over a number field <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> K K </inline-formula> is obtained as a subgroup of the usual Selmer group by imposing stronger conditions at places above <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> p p </inline-formula>. We prove a formula for the Euler-characteristic of the fine Selmer group over a <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> Z p \mathbb {Z}_p </inline-formula>-extension and use it to compute explicit examples.
