Exoskeletal scars caused by bacterial attachment to copepods

Abstract

Indications of exoskeletal scars on copepods Acartia spp. suggest bacterial attachment. Infestation of > 10 5 bacterial cells per copepod may affect differences in respiratory rate for the animals.
