Abstract In this paper, the differential transform method (DTM) was applied to heat transfer of a micropolar fluid through a porous medium with radiation. The governing equations can be written as a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The approximate solutions of these equations were obtained in the form of series with easily computable terms. Then, Padé approximant was applied to increase the convergence rate of the series. The results obtained in this study were compared with the numerical results (fourth‐order Runge–Kutta method). © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
