A catalog of morphological properties of the 2712 Abell clusters

Abstract

A catalog is presented which contains 1971 Rood-Sastry morphological types for all 2712 Abell clusters, the Hubble morphological types (when discernible), and mutual separations of galaxies identified as the three brightest cluster members, the separations between the components of each binary galaxy among them, the observed number of fainter binaries and triples in each cluster, Abell's distance classes and richness counts, markers to indicate data in other catalogs, subsidiary information and notes on 1623 clusters. The data were determined from visual inspection of the KPNO glass copy of the POSS.
