The Hydrophiloidea of Israel and the Sinai (Coleoptera, Hydrophiloidea)

Abstract

Abstract This paper, which forms part of a collaborative work on the freshwater fauna of Israel, under contract to the Inland Water Ecological Service (IES) and the Nature Reserves Authority (NRA) of Israel, revises the distribution of the Hydrophiloid fauna of Israel and the Sinai by evaluating the numerous recent records from different water types; earlier records mainly from the museums of Israel, and published records in the literature. The general distribution and ecology of each species is discussed and an identification key is given.
