Abstract

The principal components of a multispectral image are studied with special emphasis placed on photointerpretation applications. The method used to obtain these components involves a linear radiometric enhancement which avoids artifact creation and does not require extra computational work. The results have been particularized to Landsat multispectral scanner images and applied to the geological study of a sedimentary basin in central Spain.
