TLDR

Maintenance strategy selection rarely uses AHP and ANP, adding new options to the field. The study demonstrates applying AHP and ANP to choose optimal maintenance strategies for critical production organizations. AHP and ANP were applied to a Turkish newspaper printing facility, incorporating organizational requirements via expert input. Both methods effectively selected maintenance strategies, yielding similar results, and the step‑by‑step guidance enables broader organizational adoption.
