Abstract

ABSTRACT The essential oil isolated by hydrodistillation from the sepals of Leonotis leonurus R. Br. was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Thirty-three oil components were identified, which constituted more than 90% of the oil. The major components were α-pinene (12.6%), limonene (5.6%), β-caryophyllene (30.8%), α-humulene (7.8%) and caryophyllene oxide (8.4%).
