On nonclassical invertible transformations of hyperbolic equations

Abstract

The main result of this paper is a complete description of local invertible transformations relating one equation of the form u xy = F ( x, y, u, u x , u y ) to another equation of the form υ xy = G ( x, y , υ, υ x , υ y ).
