Periodontal Disease Is an Independent Predictor of Intracardiac Calcification

Abstract

In a multiracial population, we found a significant association between the degree of periodontal disease, a chronic inflammatory condition, and cardiac calcification. Further, higher periodontal scores were associated with greater degrees of calcification.
