Reactions of pyrosulfuryl fluoride, S 2 O 5 F 2 , with various inorganic substrates are carried out to explore its potential and usefulness as a fluorosulfonating agent. New fluorosulfonates, viz; [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] NaBiO(SO 3 F) 2 , and Ti(OCH 3 ) 2 (SO 3 F) 2 have been prepared by reacting [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] NaBi(CF 3 COO) 4 , and Ti(OCH 3 ) 4 , respectively, with S 2 O 5 F 2 . These compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses and infrared and 19 F nmr spectra. Keywords: new fluorosulfonates, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] NaBiO(SO 3 F) 2 , Ti-(OCH 3 ) 2 (SO 3 F) 2 .
